The Auckland Auctions-A day of action at the auctions in Auckland

A few weeks ago I sent a day with one of my customers looking at what houses were being sold for at auctions in Auckland.

Here is a summary of the action that took place.

First up at 9.00am were the mortgagee / receivership property auctions.

1; The first home up was a property in Park Avenue Papatoetoe which was a brick and weatherboard one level solid home. It was low maintenance due to it being brick and weatherboard with aluminum joinery. Three bedrooms with internal garaging. This sold for $339,000.00.

2 ;The second home up was a place in McLennan Rd Mt Wellington which had three lounges, and so many bedrooms that it was not advertised in the preauction order of sale. This required work done on it but sold for $372,000.00.

3; The third home was a brick and tile property in Sheehan Ave Papakura. The property was on a full section which was fully fenced. Three bedrooms, large lounge, with a huge separate garage sold fro $256,000.00.

4; The forth home was a four bedroom home in Holland Street Pukekohe. This a one level brick home with 4 bedrooms and a separate lounge. It also had a huge workshop on a full site sold for $190,000.00.

5; The fifth home was another property in Holland Street Pukekohe. It was a 3 bedroom home made of hardiplank with a tile roof. Level section with a double garage sold for $165,000.00.

6; The last place in Arnhelm Place Pukekohe was a one level brick and weatherboard house. With three bedrooms, large separate garage on a 1257m section this sold for $180,000.00.

The auction room was only half full of customers. By the time the next lot of properties were put up for sale the auction room had a few more people there to bid on the new stock on offer.

7; First up was a 5 bedroom home on a level fully fenced site with a study, double garage and sea views inKohimarama Rd, sold at auction for $1.3m.

10; The next two properties were two units side by side up for sale in Gowing drive Meadowbank. Both were two bedrooms with a carport. The first one sold for $361,000.00 was the second one was pasted in as it did not get any bidders.

I then left the auctions to go and have a coffee with an old friend. Around 1.30pm I came back to find that the room was overflowing with people trying to bid. You could not move. Not only were all the seats taken but also there were people everywhere trying to see what was happening.

42;Toru Street Te Atatu Peninsula was a two bedroom brick and tile home with garaging sold for $320,000.00.

As you can see this was a busy day at the auctions. Some houses sold while others did not have any bids at all on them. The room really got busy after 1 o’clock.

Here are over 42 properties on sale at Auction in one day. This is just a sample of what is taking place in Auckland. If you are looking to buy a property by Auction and you need a home loan to buy that property make sure you have your home loan preapproval before you go?
